Facing every challenge together
At Aspirations we work to promote independence and purpose for the people we support who face various mental health related challenges.
Aspirations have extensive understanding of the Mental Health Act and help the people we support to navigate this as it can be a daunting and complicated process. We also have access to diagnosis-specific specialist training.
At Aspirations Care we are committed to:
Diagnoses include Schizophrenia, Bi-polar Disorder, Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), Personality Disorders, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression or a combination of these diagnoses along with many others.
We work collaboratively with the following teams and professionals when supporting a person with a mental health diagnosis:
Community Mental Health Teams
Community Learning Disabilities Teams

Aspirations provides a Recovery Model of Support to achieve positive outcomes in the following areas…
You could be just what the people we support need to make their bright future happen. We never stop striving to provide the friendly, professional, and inspirational service we’d want to experience ourselves. Interested? We’re always looking for motivated and enthusiastic team members to help us achieve that every single day.
Every person we support is at the centre of that support. From their initial assessment to completion of regular reviews and on-going guidance. We develop each plan for each individual. Their support is tailored to planned outcomes helping them achieve their hopes, dreams and aspirations.
Everyone at Aspirations is dedicated to supporting and encouraging the people we support to recognise and achieve their potential. With our continual guidance and practical assistance, their hopes of starting an independent and fulfilling life can be realised.
Everyone should have something to look forward to, a meaningful day and someone to share it with.
We create the type of service that we would want for ourselves or for our families and friends, delivered by excellent staff.
We deliver an excellent service to adults ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to recognise and achieve their potential.
Each and every day, we do everything we can to help the people we support get where they want to be. Our focus is on providing new and innovative ways to promote independence, responsibility and purpose – and ultimately offer support that is tailored to an individual’s specific needs.
How Aspirations achieves success:
Person-centred practices define our ways of working. Above all, our aim is to make sure every individual we work with and support is appreciated within their local community – and can make meaningful contributions to it.
Everything we do to help the people we support is underpinned by our fully audited and regularly reviewed core processes.
By quality auditing our different services together with monitoring and reviewing our ways of working, we are able to demonstrate our provision of highly personalised and independent supported living options across the whole care and support pathway. This provides the people we support, their families, commissioning authorities and regulatory bodies with the reassurance they need and require.
Central to our commitment to a person-centred approach, Aspirations uses an integrated governance approach to manage and direct quality within the organisation. A series of committees meet either monthly or quarterly (depending upon their function) and report into an Integrated Governance Meeting held quarterly by the Senior Management Team.
External oversight is provided by a quarterly Review Board (Quality Council) made up of people we support, carers, leaders across Aspirations and members of the board. Best practice and learning from events is shared through group supervision meetings. We also share quality data on trends, health and safety updates, updates from our regulator, CQC, and share example case studies from around the organisation through monthly updates.
To feed our audit process, we have also developed an ‘Expert by Experience’ programme. This enables any people we support who are interested, to work alongside members of the quality team and specially-trained support workers. They accompany them to visit services and speak with staff and those we support about how the service meets peoples’ needs. This information then feeds into audits in respect of those services.
The Outcomes Star measures and supports progress towards self-reliance or other goals for the people we support. The Stars are designed to be completed collaboratively as an integral part of keywork. Each point on the star relates to a scale of expected attitudes and behaviours.

We believe that every person we support has the right to lead active and fulfilling lives, meaningfully participating alongside others in their community.
Aspirations are skilled in providing person centred, outcome based support for vulnerable people. We believe that individuals have the right to lead active and fulfilling lives, participating within their community.
We can either provide this support in peoples own home or in properties which we can help source, alongside trusted housing providers to secure individuals their own tenancy.
Individuals are helped to maximise their abilities and opportunities to improve their quality of life. Each person is also encouraged to work towards increasing their independence in their local community.
The people we support may need support for various reasons:
Listening and acting on what the people we support say about us is fundamental to the way we support them.
My life, my support
When I have my key worker session with my support worker, she is very helpful and supportive. She gives me good advice and listens to me a lot.
No matter which plan of support we follow to help the people we support, all the Aspirations team are trained to observe potential triggers, create clear channels of communication and promote consistency that develops positive outcomes.
Our core experience is in supporting people to move from highly supported environments (such as hospitals, secure settings and residential placements) into their own homes. To do that, we provide personalised, outcome-focused support designed to overcome individual challenges.
Autism is a lifelong neuro-developmental condition that affects each individual person differently. Aspirations is committed to understanding the individual and their autism before putting in place the right support to help that person thrive as they strive for independence and purpose.
At Aspirations we are dedicated to supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs to move into their own homes – no matter how complex their needs and challenges. Everything we do is underpinned by our ‘own home not hospitals’ ethos.
We offer supported living and community support. Working closely with housing providers, we find suitable, good quality housing. We provide personalised support helping to give individuals the best possible chance of taking control of their mental health – and their future.
We begin at the beginning
The transition into supported living is not always easy. It is important we meet and get to know the individual as well as it being helpful to have insight into their history. That is why it’s essential we work with each person to understand their needs and develop their own support plans.
To be able to provide the support needed, it is important that the staff team have access to appropriate learning and development. This includes training and coaching in Positive Behaviour Support to ensure that staff are equipped to provide safe and effective support in the least restrictive way.
How we focus on the positive
There are occasions when physical interventions are required to ensure everyone stays safe in a crisis. MAPA’s suite of Learning & Development Programmes ensures the approaches we use reduce the risks to everyone. They focus on alternatives such as redirection and adopting the least restrictive intervention.
Aspirations has a continued commitment to embed the principles of Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) into everyday practice and we have worked with MAPA on the inception of licenced trainers. PBS helps us to understand the function of a person’s behaviour and what maintains it. The support we provide aims to increase the individual’s quality of life and reduce the frequency and severity of their behaviours.
Increasing knowledge and understanding supports confidence and competence in our teams to safely and effectively manage behaviours, improving quality of life for the people we support and minimise risks.
When I have my key worker session with my support worker, she is very helpful and supportive. She gives me good advice and listens to me a lot. She is very positive towards my progress and development. I feel reassured and it is good when someone listens to you. She shows she cares.
If you know someone who would benefit from our person-centred support as they work towards a more independent future, please email us.
