 Then we want to speak to you about becoming a Support Worker in our intensive supported living service in Stechford. You will be making a real difference to individuals with complex needs, learning disabilities and enduring mental health issues and helping them to adjust to everyday life.


This is no ordinary job.

The role:

You will be working as part of a team, supporting adults with complex needs and behaviours that challenge to live in their own homes, helping them to develop new skills, increase their independence, enabling them to access the community and get involved in various activities in order to have a better quality of life.

 This could be simple things like gardening and cooking to swimming, trips to the cinema and trying new hobbies and activities. You will need to use your resilience and understanding and be able to react quickly to difficult situations.

  • Assisting our people to improve their knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Offer stimulation and motivation through conversation and social activity
  • Assisting with meal preparation, cooking, and cleaning
  • Booking and attending health care appointments with our people
  • Reporting any safeguarding concerns to the management team
  • Maintaining records by keeping care plans and risk assessments up to dat
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and use de-escalation techniques through to physical intervention as necessary. (full training will be provided).

Skills and experience required:

  • Ideally some previous care or medical experience or a strong interest in working within Adult Mental Health, Autism or Learning Disabilities.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in care would be desirable but not essential as full training is provided.
  • Resilience is key

  • Physically able to engage in physical intervention techniques including standing, kneeling or seated.
  • A good sense of humour in sometimes challenging situations.

  What will the job involve?

  • You will play a dual role, providing both support and staff management and being a positive and motivational role model for our Support Workers
  • Carry out observations and supervisions.
  • Producing and implementing quality staff rotas
  • Ensuring all reports are completed for regulatory bodies, including CQC/HSE
  • Reporting all safeguarding concerns to the local authorities safeguarding board and CQC if relevant
  • Ensuring the dignity, respect, safety and well-being of all people we support is maintained to protect them from all forms of abuse in conjunction with the Company’s Policy and Procedures/ Care Standards guidelines

Each and every day you will do everything you can to help the people we support get where they want to be. Your focus will be on providing new and innovative ways to promote independence, responsibility and purpose to those that we support.

The Person

  • Previous experience of managing or supervising staff within health and social care.
  • NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent or working towards.
  • Compassionate and patient with the desire to make a difference
  • Full clean driving licence and own transport is required.
  • A positive and passionate attitude
  • A strong team player with leadership skills, ability to motivate and lead by example.
  • Ability to work under pressure, react quickly to situations.
  • Keen to develop and generate ideas.

Aspirations are looking for self- motivated, caring and compassionate individuals to ensure the wellbeing, security and safety of a supported living premises in Stechford, Birmingham, which is home to adults with complex needs, learning disabilities and enduring mental health issues.

 Working overnight, you will be required to stay awake to provide emotional and physical support as required and ensure the safety and wellbeing of the people we support.


The role can be challenging and you could be handling some crisis situations but you will meet and build great relationships with some amazing individuals

The Role

  • To administer medication or support users to take medication as required.
  • To perform regular security checks of the building and doors
  • Offer support with morning routines.
  • Keep areas clean and tidy and remove any hazards.
  • Remain awake over night to maintain care and support as required.
  • Complete all paperwork as required.
  • Be available to chat or keep company if our users are unable to sleep.
  • To ensure the safety and well being of individuals overnight.

The Person

  • At least 12 months support work or medical experience or a combination of experience and qualifications is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of working with challenging behaviours, mental health, learning disabilities and Autism is preferred.
  • Compassionate and patient with the desire to make a difference
  • Resilience is key
  • Ability to react to emergency situations in order to preserve safety and well being of users and staff.
  • Passionate about person centred support.
